WE 4.1 Hi-Capa Problem!

For some reason, my GBB has a ton of problems and I suspect they all have something to do with the slide.

1: Gas is expelled like there is no tomorrow. The first three shots expel a ton of gas, and then the next shots have next to no gas expelled.

2: Slide doesn't cycle completely when firing.

3: When mag is empty, it still shoots and cycles, but the cycles go like halfway and don't reach the catch, and therefore the cycling isn't stopped.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated -.-"

EDIT: Also, I just lubricated it, so I don't think its that thats a problem.

Nozzle may have cracked. Very common problem in WE hi-capas.

Thnx for the input! I'm looking into it now.

This gun has been fired a total of 4 mags x 30, so 120 times.
I kinda expect a gun to last at least 400-500 rounds on original parts. -.-"

I just did a quick google search on an upgraded nozzle and can't seem to find any. Could you point me in the right direction? Or is it non-existent?

100% agreed. Sounds like a cracked nozzle. Upgraded aftermarket nozzles that fit Marui will fit WE as well.

Take it apart and check the nozzle for cracks.

I just received a bunch in stock. Message me if you want one, and I'll send you details. Haven't had a chance to post them up in my sales thread yet.

You have been PMed, ILLusion.

Also, I can't seem to take the damn assembly apart without using a method that seems like it would break it. Argh. No amount of googling will do me any good and I have given up for now. Because I am sleepy and tired.

The assembly should just drop right out after you've removed the screw from the back of the slide, and the top of the rear sight. Confirm it's cracked before we look in to buying a nozzle.

The other potential cause of the problem is a non functioning floating valve, but the design is generally very reliable. Chance of failure is very low, but you can check that at the same time you check the nozzle. If you see no crack on the nozzle, then you can go deeper to check the floating valve.

Oh thats how! Thnx!

The nozzle has no apparent cracks.

I think I'm just going to send this back to the place that I got it from because they said that there was a 3 month warrenty for GBBs.

Thnx for all the help and I think that now I have a general idea of where the problem is to be found.

I also forgot to mention in the openeing post: After I expelled all of the gas and refilled it, it would barely fill for about 3 seconds before gas started to leak. Is that a problem?

Yep. That's a problem. It's also probably because it's a WE... but that's for another post...

So are you saying that my mag is a lemon and that I should get it replaced? Or is it easily fixable?

Check one of the few mag sealing guides on this forum. It's a common problem with WE magazines.

Search for "gasket" in the Doctor's corner - look for a thread made by "z0ng", and another made by "coachster"

Ah, thnx, I'm going to attempt a remedy now.

EDIT: On second thought, I'm going to let the peeps who I bought it from look at the whole gun and the mag first so that I don't end up accidentally "fixing" the wrong problem.

EDIT 2: Upon further diagnostics, it cycles fine and locks up fine when the mag is empty, but normal cycling and locking only happens sometimes. Other times, the stuff that I mentioned above happens...

I just thought of something that I didn't think of before.

If the mag is too cold...does that cause a problem? Because after firing off 30 shots, the mag feels just about frozen and then the gun itself starts to get cold. Around the second time I use the mag, it starts to screw up...

This is typical of cooldown effect.

Looks like we'd overlooked it. This is content for GBB 101.

Some guns/setups and propellent types will suffer from it more than others. Firing in rapid succession does not help.
