Is it a CM031? I am assuming it is, as CM040 seems to have only metal receiver and side folding stock.
CM031 and CM040 (both CYMA AK74M) have very different receivers. CM031 is Marui-spec and CM040 is VFC/LCT spec.
With either model, it will probably be very diffcult to get a metal receiver in Canada. Same applies for AK47 receivers.
If you are getting an AK47 receiver for that, saying a receiver from CM042 or CM028 (both Marui-spec CYMA AK47), be aware that there is an extra piece of metal at the grip end on CM042/CM028, which can probably be cut. I am not sure if everything else is the same among CM042 and CM031 receivers but they should be very similar.

If its me, unless I can get the said metal receiver very cheap (saying scavenged from a "dead" gun), or the gun means something special to me, I wouldn't bother trying that. I would sell the CM031 and buy a CM040 instead. CM040 also has nice steel receiver, instead of pot metal receiver from CM042 or CM028.

I have been away for a while... Is Evike (and their UPS shipping) still a pain as they were, when custom brokerage fee goes?
Also I don't think that can be imported easily.

If you order an AK lower receiver from outside Canada, it's going to be seized at the border.
