m16 scope mounted on stock?

Basically Im running a m16 with heat shield and m203, its kinda heavy, so Id rather keep the handle. Was playing around with pimp my gun and was wondering if this looks stupid, or practical or thoughts in general... the scope would be a flip to side type so I could use iron sights too...

Well, if it was real steel, you wouldn't be able to operate the cocking handle any more...

I'd suggest a carry handle mounted Scope, if you haven't looked into this, Otherwise you'd have a hard time aligning the scope with the stock and securing everything in place.

Flip to side or not you want the rear eyepiece no further back than the rear iron sight sits.

I wonder if you can get a good cheek weld with a butt plate? Maybe you're onto something.

Hehe, I actually carry that item cheaper than the US stores. Prices in canada are starting to compete with US prices.

if you realy want to mount it on the stock, you would have to make sure that you have it centered to the gun so it lines up, would be a difficult build, if you do it take lots of pictures

With most Acog you do not need that handle mount...considering the Acog only has one screw, you can attach directly to the handle sight...

thanks for the input everyone...

I kinda dont want to mount anything on the handle because it would make holding it from the actual handle awkward with a scope in your hand too...

I hate slings, so in prep for this season and this gun Ive been working out my arms big time (Ive lacked motivation in the past now i have it lol)

I actually dont like scopes all that much, but I get great range with this thing and there has been many times when I wish I could see just a little more of my target. Binoculars haven't really been my thing either.

I just figured the idea of the scope in this spot isn't too far away from what a xm8's is located

edit: after looking at the picture some more, it does look stupid lol
