Elite 8.4v 1500mah shall do the trick. If your only getting 2-3 mags like you said there's really no need for anything bigger.

Don't they only fit mini packs?

So, a mini pack. 8.4v (not sure if they fit 9.6v? If they do, get a 9.6v)

I use a 9.6 mini. It fits just right as long as it's not fully collapsed.

Higher rate of fire with a 9.6 compared to the 8.4

More confused by this lipo business as I read.

So I can fit a 9.6 mini hey? Maybe Ill just get two of those and bring the backup for milsims and stuff.

7.4 lipos supposedly pack great punch and last in cold weather- thats pretty alluring though. I could probably run one of these alright, yes?

Just need a circuit/no blow up gun thingy and an appropriate charger from what Ive read.

Yes, a balance charger (e.g. the ubiquitous B6) and a Li-Po alarm that beeps if the cell voltage drops too low (fire hazard).

I'd suggest Turnigy nanotech from HobbyKing for the 7.4V (2S) batteries and voltage alarm.

If you decide lipo, this is what I run in mine: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...SOFT_Pack.html

Fits great, works great, and super cheap!
I highly suggest you do a little research, they are beyond worth it, I pretty much only run lipos now.

I can only fit a 9.6v nimh nunchuck max inside the VFC SCAR. I recommend using a 7.4 lipo since it would give you plenty of room and descent power.

Beyond choosing a battery, it's also a good idea to replace the original VFC wires with something a bit more flexible. The original wiring is somewhat under-gauge, and too stiff - it always gets caught in that mechanism for adjusting the stock's length.

Lol. Steve. Myth buster disproved that. Lipos only explode when cute puppies are near by as to increase carnage.

Lipos the way to go. Just don't be a dummy. They won't explode on discharge unless they are shorted. But any battery will explode over that reason.
