Pros:

No need for discharging
Better MAH (For minis, 600 MAH on a nicad vs 1100 MAH on a nimh)
Good for stock guns
Pretty new technology

Cons:

Shitty in winter
Very picky on heat (If you charge to long or charge on a higher ampage you'll cook the battery)
Not good for upgraded guns (Nicads have a better discharge rate than nimh)

The discharge thing can be fixed if you buy BB Bastard chargers and use them with nicads, NPT technology doesnt need discharging.

Charge with a peak charger, if you use a wall charger your better off cutting the connectors off and re-using them.

Dont use a wall charger for NI-MH, I learned the hard way...

1100 Mah is 1.1 Amps

Meaning if you charge a 1100 Mah Nimh battery under 1.1 amps you should be fine. Anything higher than that is too risky especially if its like 2.2 amps.

I have a Dynomite Prophet Plus LCD Charger with a fine adjustment knob for charging a battery at exactly its peak Mah:Ampage ratio.

the max you should charge battery packs is:

1C for nimh packs (C is capacity in mAh)
3C for nicad packs (C is capacity in mAh)
