NSW CQBR Aimpoint Mount?

Hey all, just wondering who makes a good replica of the Aimpoint mount commonly seen on the NSW shortened M4's?

I have a G&P mount, but it isn't as tall as the ones they use, and doesn't clear the AN/PEQ2 I have mounted on the front.

I've been all through WGC's catalog, but can't seem to find anything. Perhaps the Guarder mount?

Found this on uncompany, but have no idea what brand it is. But it does look perfect for what I'm after.

Thanks,

Oates

You could email them and ask. Actually, I guess you being a smart guy probably already have...

That's a nice looking mount, but I personally prefer the US Military L-mount. Seems to me that with it's longer base, it can only be more secure, zolid, and hold a better zero. Though obviously the NSWC guys know better than me...I also love the self tensioning quick release knob, which none of the replicas ones I've seen have, only the real USMil one.

Come to think of it, didn't I actually buy my L-mount from you? :-)

It looks to me like the UNC one is about the same height as the USGI L-mount spleen is talking about.

I have one and it doesn't clear a regular-size LAM replica. Even with the spacer the L-mount can only reach 25mm off the rail. I would guess that the mount shown in the pic is the same.

Yep. I actually took a file to the bottom of the adjustment knob on the front of the PEQ-2 to make it sit lower. I found from looking around that the replica PEQ mounts much higher than the real one, as well as that knob being taller than the real one. After the shaving, I could at least see my front post standing a few mms above the adjustment knob.

Replicas are rarely perfect...

I haven't heard back from UN Company yet.

I do have the US issue aimpoint L mount, I'm mostly looking for this scope mount for the look.

Thanks for the input though guys.

I did some surfing for AP mounts... apparently PRI makes a "tall" one that stands 1.7125" rather than the industry standard 1.57".

http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.htm...f=134&t=141313

I don't know if it's the same style, but I think it's the one SEALs are using in this picture:

I can't tell for sure... but a higher than 25mm mount does exist... see below and note the clearance of the Aimpoint body from the rail.

Hope this helps... and if you find a source for PRI mounts, let me know.

Groombug, exactly what I was looking for, thanks. I'm suprised no airsoft companies have made a knock off mount yet, they were pretty quick to jump on the NSW M4 wagon with the crane stocks and shortened barrels.

I did find a KAC mount that is similar, although at $130 USD, it's a little too much.

Also, www.mstn.biz sells PRI products, but they do not have the extra tall SOCOM mount listed. I think based on the pics he provided in that thread on ar15.com you linked to, he can get it.

Damage, thanks for the link, but the Guarder mount is still a little shorter than what I'm looking for, looks about the same height as the G&P mount I currently have.

Those guys aren't DEVGRU, are they? I'm pretty sure they're just from a regular SEAL team. I hope they're not DEVGRU, as they're faces aren't hidden...

Well, here's an update, UN Company got back to me and the mount listed in my original pic is indeed the Guarder mount. Perhaps it just looks taller than mine with the LAM being mounted on the side of the RIS, where on mine I have it mounted on the top RIS rail.

Anyway, I'll look into the PRI products, and update you guys.

Now I know why your M4 looks a bit funny!

Hey Oates, you could try PM'ing Vondnik to machine you a custom mount.
