HELP - CQB Rig and M4 bag.

I'm not much of a gear head...so hopefully this is enough to go on. Please help me sort out what to get.

Rig Requirements:
- hold 2-4 M4 mags
- chest/front and back protection (at least panels to take the sting/bleeders out of shots)
- light and tight for indoor CQB
- no bells, whistles, release rip-cords, etc...
- hold 2-4 grenades (2-3 accessible by me, 1-2 accessible to partners)
- radio pouch
- not floppy

I'm running my hicapa in a belt mounted serpa and 2 spare pistol mags on my rear left hip in an open top bianchi holder. Dump pouch on my belt.

I'd like the rig to be really out of the way for getting to my pistol. I've been running an Eagle Commando Recon Vest (RRV?) and the back waist strap blocks my pistol/mags (at least it feels like they're getting hung up).

I suppose that as long as all the pouches/stuff are laid out perfectly...I don't care if it's MOLLE or not. Once it's setup I'm leaving the pouches/stuff static.

NOTE: I'm not sure what differences there are between a plate carrier like below and an MBSS...they look pretty much the same to me. There's probably other ackronym-gear that I don't know...so suggestions are more than welcome.

I'm looking at this...what do you think? will it do the trick?:
Eagle Industries Plate Carrier (Khaki I guess...but whatevers closest to Coyote Brown)

Also, I'd like to transport my M4 CQBR split in two for the smallest/shortest case possible. No camo, nosey-neighbour friendly.

I was looking at this...Pantac GoBag (Khaki I guess...or CB...solid colour, no camo)

I hate ordering stuff...so pointers to local sources or sales is a big plus to me.

Thank you!

Tys

If you can make it down to Trenton drop by our store. You can lay out any vest/rig on the table and put it together, try it on etc.

The Blackhawk STRIKE Plate carrier is pretty nice for just front and back protection.

Lots of MOLLE room, very light and there's on for sale in the classifieds right now. Should be around $70. Put the fake SAPI plates in mine, fits REALLY snugly, not uncomfortably so.

Heads up on the MBSS style, you might not have the proper arm movement for indoor... It's right up against your armpit and bicep.

The TAG plate carrier:

Has those cut outs to allow better movement of the arms. I tried it on at One Shot Tactical, and if I had the coin, would have bought it on the spot.

How much movement do you want?

If you want a lot of movement with some protection i would go with Paraclete Hard plate carrier or chicken plate carrier.

Paraclete HPC

Chicken Plate Airsoft replica

Both these rigs make holstering on the belt easy as there isn't anything there to obstruct your holster.

If you plan on getting the MBSS, I would suggest the S/M sizing because the one in Shell Pants post is of a large and usually worn by burly Navy SEALs who's shoulders clear the shouldering of the gun lol. The medium Size is angled off at the shoulder so it will be easier to shoulder your gun. This item can be had from Pantac at a cheap price think it was $80 dollars?

If you want a little more protection with lots of movement in the shoulder I would also suggest the LBT 6094 which is basically a Plate carrier with a cumberbund for extra real estate for goodies. Pantac also makes a knockoff of this so you can save dollars here as well.

In terms Gear bag there are few out of there that are good, but the one i enjoy most is this Eagle Sigma III bag, that comes with the padded M4 Case and shoulder strap.

I own a lot of this stuff Tyson, so if you want to copafeel your welcome to.

Thanks guys...good pointers and links.

For myself, this isn't so much as an impression thing as a function over form thing. Airsoft function that is...

I've got too many scars on my upper chest and back from where my gear doesn't cover me...don't mind taking the hits, but I'd like to avoid the bleeders/wounds if possible.

Most CQB stuff will be at CQB and TTAC3 this winter...it's pretty tight at times. It's got to be small/light/tight for going through windows and some of the crawl spaces. I'd sacrifice side protection for mobility...I really didn't like the way my CIRAS felt like I was wearing a barrel.

Most engagements don't last more than 2 mags and 2 grenades. Fast/frantic IA. At CQB we need pliers/cutters and misc dirty tricks as well. So whatever works best is good enough.

I'm going to hit Darren's place Monday and check stuff out there. Godly...maybe I'll hook up with Tech and we'll finger your goodies if I'm still befuddled by it all. I could use some expert tips on setting it up.
