Single 5.56 Shingle

Hey guys, I was just wondering what your experiences have been with different brands and variations of open top 5.56 mag shingles.

Ideally, what I am looking for would be single mag shingles with bungee retention, PALS on the front for stacking if necessary and as short of a pouch as possible.

I realize that some shingles are available with only 2 columns of PALS on the front, however I have also heard of others that are fairly short and have 3 rows.

It doesn't matter if the pouches come with their own attachment straps or if MALICE clips are required.

Thanks

I have the Pantac shingle for m4. It is great, fits Pmag, does not move around too much and the bungee cord securely holds the mag in place.

It has two columns of PAL in the front. I don't see the need of having three columns, as most likely you are going to put pistol or grenade pouches in the front, which normally take two two columns of PAL.

I'm looking for 3 rows so that I can stagger another shingle on it if required. I currently run an admin on the front of a double shingle but the double does not give me the modularity I am looking for.

One of my friend has tactical tailer's M4 shingle. The quality is great. It has the 3 rows of PAL as you desires. It uses MALICE, as usual.

Not that I have experience with. nutnfancy did a review on the condor one.

It is a bit different from the regular shingle.

Just like he says in the video, problems with Condor pouches, I have never tried Voodoo's pouches, however I trust what nutnfancy says when he's had issues with them as well. I'm actually considering ATS shingles, but some feedback from people that have used different brands would be great.

i have the condor double stackers. i like them. i don't find them loose or anything, and the mag fits nicely. i took off the elastics on the back row, just for easy of loading. the molle, while only being 2 colums, goes right to the end. you should be able to stagger your shingles.

I double stack the condor triples as well and once you weave the molle strips in they're very secure but you don't ever want to do it again!

They will stay in for sure. I've done at least 10 jumps with them and haven't lost a... No I'm kidding, your guess is as good as mine.

I don't have any because I run stacked Sig mags and they wouldn't fit. The cord can be loosened or tightened depending on the desired retention. If you look he gives it a good shake upside-down in the video so I would imagine you wouldn't have anything to worry about for regular use. As for jumping out of planes....

Maybe it's not made for paratroops.

I wouldn't think they would be jumpable.. going to need a closed top mag pouch.. but it comes down to the JMs call in the end of what's a go and not.

When/why would you be jumping with this kit anyways?

Just a hypothetical...considering jumping would pose the greatest chance of losing a mag out of a pouch, I'm trying to figure out what mag pouch would be best. The one thing I'm trying to stay away from are the hook and loop closed top pouches.

Would you say bungee retention like on the ATS shingles would be jumpable? Or would that still require some sort of a secured flap over the mags?
