What's up with Real Sword?

Anyone know why the Type 56, Type 56-1 and Type 56-2 by Real Sword isn't in stock anywhere and hasn't been for a while? It's still listed as being a product on their website.

Did they forget to pay off their local officials and have been "disallowed" to produce the type 56?

I'm pretty sure they aren't allowed to be imported since they shared certain parts in common with the real steel - at least that's what I heard.

Correct me if I'm wrong but only 2 AK parts prohibited in Canada are receiver and FA trigger group. I also saw a post on Russian airsoft board where people said that RS AEGs and Hexagon PPSh purposely made with thinner receivers and outer barrels for a reason.

RS guns are on the Firearms Reference Table cleared for import to Canada. I expect that the demand for their products in Canada is down due to the proliferation of less expensive models. Retailers bring in what sells.

I can see that being a reason in Canada, but I'm not even seeing them in stock on Asian retailers like Ehobby and WGC. Last time I saw one in stock was only the Type 56-2 at Ehobby and that was over 6 months ago. The full stock Type 56 hasn't been in stock for over a year and half.

So I'm still curious cause I know that we don't set the demand for airsoft products...although we probably are the reason that so many retailers sell stock models shooting around 400fps now.

They actually didn't use any real steel parts in their construction. The overall product shared the same external dimesions as the real steel and some of the same production techniques, but that wouldn't prohibit it from import.

Ya there was another thread about this. Found it- I searched real sword availability. Someone there said its rumoured that real sword was moving it factory or something. Someone else told me they make them in batches. Don't know for sure. But I know it sucks

Factories in Asia build in batches.

They forecast half a year or more ahead based on requests from their customers.

I would have to guess that overall demand is low. No one in airsoft gets excited about a 5 year old AEG no matter what. They want the new stuff.

Fewer orders means fewer productions that are further and further apart.

Outside Canada price is still a factor. You see people arguing that an expensive AEG is a rip off, to them having something priced a couple hundred bucks more than a similar looking item from another brand is outrageous.

Where did you hear/read that? It's still listed as a product on their website, so that'd be strange if they weren't making them anymore.

The factory doesn't sit and churn out aeg after aeg like model Ts on an assembly line.

They wait till they hear from eHobby and Redwold, and UNco. Then when they've got the numbers they order the materials to build the orders with. This all happens months ahead of time. They don't have a huge stock of raw material in the yard just waiting for the go word.

And if when Real Sword talks to the retailers & they hear there are only a couple or so of a particular model on re-stock or pre-order they don't make them. They will have a minimum production number that they have to hit or they loose money.

There is no money in it for them to just build lots and warehouse the product till the phone rings.

That's very true. I guess I'm just surprised that nobody wants them anymore really. LCT's are awesome, but out of the box Real Swords seem superior...unless you'd rather Eastern Bloc than Chicom

I think I'll have to do that. Hopefully they don't want a bulk order.
