"Legalizing" hard to get airsoft guns.

Ok so if this has been asked before please don't shoot me but what do you experts think is the legality of purchasing an airsoft gun in America then while in America removing any Canadian illegal parts before bringing it back?

As an example with a M16 styled airsoft gun the illegal parts are the receivers so if I bought an M16 while in Washington then removed the upper and lower receivers and left them at my cousin's and brought the remaining pile of parts home properly declaring them would I have a problem?

Another way to look at it would be instead of trying to find and buy every legal part separately you just get a complete gun and remove the illegal parts which you can properly replace later.

Doing as you described is 100% legal. But then you're left with the issue of finding a receiver for your gun, which is not so easy, and will easily make up the difference in price you'd get from just buying a complete gun here in Canada in the first place.

The only thing illegal to import is the lower receiver. The upper is fine.

I think he wants the best price on his airsoft internals and as far as I can tell he has no problem replacing the externals. So really he is hoping that the visit to his cousin will become an airsoft spending spree.
IMHO get your internals from washington and declare them at the border, while you drive home do some math and figure out how much you saved on initial cost. Then do the dollar exchange and add the fuel costs. Buy your 'Canada ready' externals and calculate your final cost.
That price is why I won't be in the states following your lead but as far as you going to see your cousin and grabbing some hobby stuff, well I do it all the time.

I'm 23. I just happen to do a lot of business in the US and I have found shipping in Canada and other pointless business costs to cost a lot.

Also I can easily have gun part manufactured cheap. I can get any "illegal" airsoft gun part made for cheaper than it can be bought with better quality.

Well I have been looking at a wider variety of airsoft guns from US sources and so far I have not seen a big variety with the Canadian market. A short list is an follows:

SCAR
Famas
L85
P90
MP40

All of those guns are widely available through the classifieds.

With your plan... You'll end up with a bunch of 90% complete guns with no ability to get a receiver for them.

I've heard that before from underage noobs claiming to be older! if you can do so cheaper than can be bought, go ahead and make them and sell them to make a profit.

why bother asking if you can buy in the US and remove restricted parts before bringing it into the country? what's the point of your original question because it doesn't make sense.

prove me wrong. go and have an AR receiver made. full metal with or without trades. if the quality is as good as you claim, I'll send you the going price for a receiver in the classifieds. you'll make a profit cause you claim you can have it manufactured cheaper and better.
